GOOD PRACTICES OF FACEBOOK LIVE

PLAN FOR SUCCESS

Make sure you have the materials and all the information you require to launch a feed. Think about what you are going to say, and how you are going to say it.

INFORM YOUR AUDIENCE WHEN YOU ARE GOING LIVE

Let your audience know when and where they can watch your live feed to encourage them to watch.

ENSURE A STRONG INTERNET CONNECTION

Make sure you have a reliable and fast connection before going live, as you don’t want your delays and freezeouts to chase away your audience.

WRITE AN ENTICING DESCRIPTION

Your description must get your users excited about your Live Stream, and maybe mention a small story to arouse curiosity.

ADD THE LOCATION OF YOUR LIVE FEED

Adding the location of your stream will allow you to appear on Facebook Live Map, which will drive more traffic to your Live Feed.

DO LONG LIVE STREAMS

The longer you have a Live Stream running, the more people will discover your feed, view it and invite their friends to watch too.

REPLY TO COMMENTS

Respond to people's comments professionally and calmly, people appreciate replies, and you could receive followers in the process.

ASK VIEWERS TO FOLLOW YOU

Remind your users to follow you. The more followers you acquire, the more people will be notified when you perform a live stream, and the larger your reach will be.

USE THE CORRECT HASHTAGS

Use the right hashtags to drive more eyes to your Live Streams. Make sure you use relevant hashtags that are specific, and not too broad.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT SURROUNDINGS

When doing a Live Feed, you may encounter some unforeseen events that disrupt the stream. Make sure your environment is quiet, and you are not expecting any interruptions in that time frame.

USE FILTERS IF NECESSARY

Filters can make the Live Feed more entertaining but cannot be used for serious Live Streams. Experiment with the different filters and see if they fit your overall plan.

FIND YOUR AUDIENCE ON MAP

This allows you to see the different locations your audience is coming from. This gives you a good idea if you are reaching the right people.
