This section will focus on how to install plugins that make it easy to update your Meta Title and Meta description on your WordPress Site. We will also show you where and how to update your information correctly.
PLUGIN INSTALLATIONS
The two most popular SEO plugins you should install are:
Click on the Plugins Tab- Vertical menu located on the left hand side of your screen.
Click on Add New Plugin blue button- located on top left hand side of the screen.
Go to the Search bar- located on the middle of the page, next to the Keyword dropdown option.
1. Type in Yoast Plugin or
2. Type in All in One SEO Plugin
1. Select Yoast SEO
2. Select All in One SEO- Best Wordpress SEO Plugin- Easily Improve..
Click Install now
Wait for the plugin to install, and click activate when ready.
HOW TO UPDATE THE META TITLE OF EACH PAGE
Click on the Pages Tab- Vertical menu located on the left hand side of your screen.
Select the Page you would like to update the Meta Title and description.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find either the Yoast or AIO SEO heading, depending on which one you chose.
On the sub-heading of Page Title, delete the existing information and put in your own title.
TIPS: Do not exceed 60 characters in your Meta Title, and include your most important keyword here. For more information on how to correctly configure your meta information, please click this link.
On the sub-heading of the Meta Description, delete the existing information and put in your own description.
TIPS: Do not exceed 160 characters in your Meta Description, and include your most important secondary keywords here
Now, Add 3 important Focus keywords so you can retrieve an On-Page SEO score for your keywords.
