STEP 1

Go to your Domain Registrar
Select your domain and click on Domain Name Settings
Click on the Manage Nameservers/ Manage DNS
You should see several Text fields appear like this:

Fill in the fields. Bluehost requires you to fill in two fields, while dream host requires you to fill in three fields.
Click Save now.

Its important to update your nameservers on your registar immediately upon purchase! Delays can lead to Nameserver Complications.

STEP 2

Now that your nameservers are pointing to your hosting company, you now need to Assign your domain name to your hosting company- Bluehost/Dreamhost.
Go to your Hosting Company Account and login
Select Domain Names from the Menu Tab
Select Assign Domain Names
Type in your domain name address in the field, .
Select the Addon Domain option
Select the Create New Directory option and push assign. The process should take several minutes and will tell you if you have completed the assignment.
PLEASE NOTE
Once you have assigned your domain name, you must wait up to 48 hours to process the request, before you can start building a website on the domain.
